Isn't it our responsibility to buy our own insurance. It has been for years, what is it different now?

  1. Why do Americans think their country should be the only one where the government has no responsibility?

  2. Are you aware that millions of Americans cannot afford health insurance? Are you aware that millions of Americans make just enough to get by and be broke? Probably not. Leave home and try fending for yourself before asking such an ignorant question.

  3. Thanks "Albert C"....I tell you so many people look at the world through their "rosey colored glasses".

  4. its all about the entitlement. too many people think its governments job to supply them with food, shelter, money, insurance, and anything else they could want. personally i would rather work for better than the gov can give me.

  5. Times change, have you been overseas?  Viet Nam, or fought for your country, no, your mommy and daddy won't let you get a tatoo wa wa wa. Go do your home work.

  6. I disagree, Every American, who is responsible and working, knows that you have to look after yourself and cannot depend on government handouts.

  7. You are not aware of the many Americans that have lost insurance because their jobs have been outsourced out of the country, and existing medical conditions may have made them uninsurable, or the simple fact that part time employees do not qualify for the insurance option.  There are so many reasons.  It is just a shame that there are so many people like you that are so uninformed.

  8. Could it be that some people didn't want to take the responsibility and get a good education and get a job where they have health insurance? Why should I be made to feel like an evil and vile person because I have put the time in and worked my way into a decent job?

  9. Only the Dems promise to give every American health care.  The rest of us were raised to believe that we must work for what we get.  And all those millions out there who are "able" but not willing to work and want to live on welfare and food stamps are furnished better insurance and medical care than those who do work for it.  And before you come unglued on that, I am not talking about those who legitimately need it.  If the premiums go up, we just learn to tighten our belts and deal with it.  We don't go crying to the government to take care of us.  We weren't raised that way!  I am sure a lot of you will have plenty to say about this.

So rave on, cat sh**, someone will come along eventually and cover you up!

  10. Because people don't want to work for anything any more, everyone wants a hand out. Look sometimes life is just hard, sorry no one said it was gonna be easy. Before everyone shoots me down, I'm not rich, I live in a small town north of boston. I work two jobs and drive a 28 year old volvo. I'd rather work hard for the things I have in life then take a government hand out. We would all live in a better place if everyone saw things this way...... It's my job to take care of my family and myself, NOT the states!!!

  11. not everyone has anough money to do that.... also some people (like you obviously) don't agree.

  12. Ok mrs richness. I don't know if your premiums haevn't gone up, but mine has.

  13. real Americans don't think that way.......only liberal Democrats do

  14. Medicare and Medicaid are the two safety nets that were set up for those without the money to pay.   Other than that, it's not the government's responsibilty to pay for health care any more than the government's responsibility to ensure people have a health club plan so they can work out and stay healthy.

  15. The fact of the matter is that Democrats have been promising this every campaign.  (google Clinton's speech)

All the Dems want is for the Unions to get in so they can Unionize and take Government Earmarks and set-aside programs.

  16. Some people can't afford it even though they are working or it is not offered to them.

There is a program in Minnesota called Minnesota Care and it's for poor and working families. You pay a certain amount based on your income. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe every job that poor people are working should offer affordable health care. It's just not the reality. Someone I work with knows someone who has to pay $900 a month just for health insurance. That's ridiculous. Even if you make over $10 an hour and work full time at 40/week, that's not affordable. You have to pay for rent, food, clothes for kids, utilities, gas, car payments or bus money.

You obviously have never been part of the working poor population.

I don't think you should judge unless you have been in that position.

Also, a lot of people affected by no insurance are kids. Do you really want more kids not being vaccinated because of no insurance.

Some people here are just so ignorant....there are so many Democrats who work more than full time. I have three jobs but I am still living paycheck to paycheck. I am not on welfare nor do I expect to get free handouts. In fact, I give some of my paycheck to charity to help out people who can't afford prescriptions. It's not much but it adds up to a few hundred dollars a year and I have been doing it for at least five years. I am going to school but I am paying for it all by myself. I have two kids and am taking care of them by myself. I don't get food stamps or anything from the government. It's absurd to think that EVERY Democrat is lazy and on welfare. I am just part of the working poor and yes, I do make more than minimum wage. Almost double that in one of my jobs.

  17. Sadly, we're moving from a "can do", fiercely independent, innovative, entrepreneurial mindset to one that embraces governmental control, dictates and entitlements.  It's sickening.
