Question:

Why do Americans vote for people who only care about the extreme rich & not the working people?

Poor people are not all on welfare most aren't. Most are working hard in the factories & behind the scenes in big places. Yet many Americans would rather give $1000 to a spoiled child who never works then to feed a child whose parents are at work all day & can only get a bowl of cereal if they get it at school for the cost of about 10cents. What is this mind set about. Please don't tell me liberals are socialist cause I have never met one that fits that description. If you use the government for any reason then don't put liberals down if you use the public library for example. Just tell me your mind set in a mature way without lies.

  1. Because those people are the only ones who have a chance at winning political office.

  2. True or False: "The GOP is the party of Big Business."

(Answer: false. Fortune 500 now give more money to the Left by a factor of 14.5 to 1)

The pork barrel spending democrats want you to think that Repubs are for the rich because they want higher taxes to line their own pockets, congress is corrupt.  Electing a union democrat will only keep jobs going to china and india at an alarming rate.

  3. Not every American voter has YOUR "mindset" about what needs to be done to "help" working people, or even that something needs to be done.

I wish you and other people who ask questions like this would not start off your question with such broad strokes ("Why do American vote ...") as if all American voters should have the same "mindset" as you, or as if you are implying that you are the only American voter who feels as you do. There are millions of American voters who feel the same way you do. They are known, generally, as Democrats. But not all voters have to be Democrats. If all voters were Democrats, then American elections would be extremely boring. The Democrats currently have majority control of Congress and a Democrat might get elected President this year. And that could mean that, starting next year, those people who you call "the extreme rich" (like Oprah Winfrey?) will probably pay more taxes in order to show that Democrats "care" about all of the people who are not "the extreme rich."

Will that make you happy? Not me.

  4. These wealthy people are cast as middle class people.  John McCain's wife Cindy (Hensley) McCain is a multi-millionaire rumored by CNN to have a monthly budget of $750,000 per month.  I am not mad at her or John McCain. Looking at John McCain you would never know he lives in the lap of luxury. What you do know is his war story.  Someone on Y/A from Ireland stated they don't understand this American election for President. They went on to say that Barack Obama is a kid from Chicago trying to run for President, McCain is married to a heiress of a beer fortune (Busche beer), why not elect McCain President and everybody have a beer?  You may laugh but the telling point is the family loyalty and vested interest to big business is prominent in this campaign.  On the other hand, the rhetoric is as if he himself where middle class, or he remembers what it was to be a poor captured soldier. Maybe so.

The fact of the matter, McCain is extremely rich, estimated worth over  $100 million.  Nevertheless, he and the elite Republican Party has a pull yourself up by the bootstrap story and a serving your country till you are almost dead story. This is parlayed into a venerable rugged individualism view of American work ethic and conduct.  This is a very honorable and noteworthy vision for our country, one problem, doing it by yourself is not realistic, it takes a team, a safety net and people to pitch in, no different than if McCain became President. It would be his team and party, as rugged of a soldier as he might have been, he could not have done it by himself and he will tell you that. It was others that gave him a break from his suffering and pain who did not look like him and did not wear the same uniform.  Every working person knows that you can't get a job unless you know someone, it's all about the contacts, who knows who.  So this vision of Amercia is an illusion for Americans in reality. To your question we buy the hype, we drink the kool aide.

The bottom line is that the Republican brand of  American values are cast as conservative, principled working class as told by the rich and fortunate. I am listening to see how either candidate of either party will do the following:  How will I be able to afford to send my child to college?  How will I be able to take care of my aging parents?  What is in it for my nieces and nephews if they get an education? Will they have to fly to Turkey to be a receptionist with a Masters degree?  How are we going to afford the rising tide of school levies, property taxes, insurance payments, gas and groceries? How are my investments and property going to fair if we go from one war to the next?  What are you Barack Obama or John McCain going to do to persuade my vote on the simplest common denominator.  How am I going to survive in the workplace and have something to leave my children and not lose anymore of my shirt?

  5. Usually seems like the people who act and preach the most about being out for the poor are the ones who take advantage of them the most and do the least for them.

  6. i think your question is a lie-----simple as that

  7. The mindset is about real help for those who need it. That comes in the form of jobs and opportunity..not in another government check.

When you go after those who strived to do better for themselves, you destroy the incentive.

If I want to be successful. I can't help but bring others up along with me.

If I don't want to do better for myself,,,then sure, it would be nice if someone assumed my personal responsibilities.

This country is the land where anyone with the drive and determination can reach their highest aspirations.. I don't want it to be a place where it is comfortable to not-provide for yourself and your family.

If we all did better for ourselves (and we certainly can) we'd all do better.

  8. There are basic fallacies in your question and in sentences one, two, and three.  If you can better support your position, it might be easier to address your concern without political emotion and a bunch of "lies".

  9. I think it is for just that reason...the rich are backing a particular candidate that they know will watch there back as far as taxes and whatnot go so the one with more money behind them gets more publicity and therefore more votes.  The guy that stands up for the poor man and may vote to increase taxes on the upper class is gonna be put down by the rich.  Just my analagy...

  10. Yes

  11. Get a good book and look up definitions. There is precious little difference between Liberals, Communists, Socials, n***s, Fascists.

All of those groups like to control people; only the "party" members have a good status.

To me if you pay Federal income taxes, you are rich. If you are like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, you are wealthy.

The working poor have no voice; they have no candidates. One reason we have such a poor representation in our politicians is because most of them would have to take a pay cut to run for the Presidency or Congress. Look at Arnold! He made millions upon millions in his movies; how much does he get as Governor of California?

Because all of those who run for Congress or the Presidency or who are appointed as Justices or Supreme Court Justices are of the "extreme rich" classification, they "look after their own".

If you have noticed, when Clinton ran, when George Bush ran (4 "presidencies", 16 years) no mention was ever made of the poor. The poor have been written off. All they care about now is the "middle class" (the ones I call "rich").

I agree, people are happy to give to the rich, and the wealthy, but think it is a waste or crime to give to the needy. But, there are too many who claim to be needy who live a good life.

  12. The rich pay upwards of 50 percent of their income in taxes...

That is about the same as in most hand-out loving European countries where they have free (quality) health care and mandatory vacation time...

People LOVE to complain... People LOVE to blame everyone else for their problems...

But what about the Leftists that have been saying for GENERATIONS that they will "Lift the poor out of the gutters" and "Save them" and make "Everyone Equal".

    Well...

Where have they been when they were in power?

Why didn't the Left CHANGE THE WORLD when they had Clinton in office?

Why don't they "raise everyone out of the gutter" now that they have control of how the US spends most of it's money?

THEY NEVER CHANGE ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY NEED THE STUPID BRAINWASHED SHEEP IN THE GUTTERS TO VOTE THEM BACK IN!

If you take the down trodden and tell them you will provide them with milk and honey for the rest of their lives if you get them in to office... The stupid people will vote them in...

When they are in office and they don't DO ANYTHING to help the poor and down trodden? How can that be? IT MUST BE THE REPUBLICANS!

Blame the republicans... THEY are the reason we didn't do a d**n thing!

Then repeat the process to constantly get your fingers back in to the pie...

Honey... Come drive through the ghetto neighborhoods of Chicago and you will see what we mean when we say "Get off your lazy butts and get a job".

Drive through the Meth-Camp in Apache Junction (near Phoenix, AZ) and see what we mean when we say "Get off your lazy butts and get a job".

There is a HUGE difference between people that are the Working Poor and the people that suck the billions of dollars out of the system because they feel they are "Owed".

No one owes you anything in a society where either you sink or you swim.

The Left are constantly taking away ANY form of “Personal Responsibility”.

They have taken away personal responsibility to the point where you are not even responsible for your own FEELINGS… EVERYONE ELSE needs to cater to YOU with PC “baby talk” because you can’t even responsible enough to keep your feelings in check if someone calls a woman a ‘chick’ or makes some r****d comment like “beaner”. How is it possible that people feel it is their “Right” to never even be offended And still say they support the constitution?

You only support speech you AGREE WITH… Then try to take away the rights for others to say what YOU don’t like…

The US, even in the state it is in now, is still the GOAL of millions and millions of non Americans… Even in this “Recession”, people are still willing to be smuggled in to the US in cargo containers… Where a quarter of the people die before they hit American Shores…

How is it that someone that is smuggled in to the US on a floating door can succeed where people born and raised here feel they have the right to suckle off of Uncle Sam’s teat for their whole lives?

If you felt it wasn't worth your time to take advantage of the schooling that is MANDATORY for every child in the US... Why are you complaining now?

The fact that the Inner City Chicago Schools get $1000.00 per student while in the "Rich" neighborhoods they get $1700.00 per student doesn't mean sh*t if the children show up not giving a d**n about actually learning...

It isn't that "white" kids get more... It has nothing to do with RACE... It comes down to the PEOPLE and their ATTITUDE.

If your only reason for showing up at school is to sell drugs, vandalize the science lab, and have s*x with your peers... Then it doesn't matter HOW much money you throw at the problem...

The problem is how the child's parents are RAISING their children.

If you are taught from birth that people should hand you everything, you end up being a waste of life that will cry 'racism' when your a failure because you refuse to do the work...

If you CHOOSE to do drugs or drink or have 5 kids... That was your CHOICE and YOU, no one else... just YOU... decided that you wanted your life to be sh*t...

No one should bail you out but YOU.

WHY is that a "Racist" idea?

If you WORK... You get money...

If you don't work... You WANT THE FED'S TO CUT YOU A CHECK? h**l NO! That isn't how it works honey...

  13. sorry I don't see what you mean

working people implies communism, everyone works

  14. More of the working poor need to vote - then we wouldn't have the rich and middle class choosing our elected officials. But unfortunately, even though I agree with you, that's the way it is. Hopefully, this time around, with more new registered voters being in the young group and the working class group - it won't be that way. But you have to get people involved and caring and voting and not just feeling like there vote doesn't matter. Every vote matters on every level.

  15. Americans vote for people who can help the country advance. The "rich" are usually corporate owners or CEO's who are for the most part hard working, giving individuals. If it weren't for the huge donations corporate America gives to programs to help the poor, and abused, there would be many more homeless, and neglected.

also remember, the top ten percent of wage earners pay ninety percent of all taxes in the USA. We need the rich.

  16. Usually the rich have the better media control and are able to say the things that make the poor think they care about them.  As far as welfare, the rich have no problem giving billions to failing corporations but begrudge the pittance given to a single mother with no education or hope for the future.  By far the vast majority of welfare families are either a woman trying to raise her kids alone and without any support from the father or families with two parents who work who still can't feed their kids.  As far as the druggies, the reality is that they are not going to stop being druggies without help.  And there are rehab beds for only about  1 out of 100 drug addicts.  And ROLLER, think about it.  Why would Fortune 500 companies contribute to those they already know support them.  You give money to people you want to be able to influence, not the ones you already have in your pocket.

  17. i was unaware only liberals put all the money into the libraries and im sure the entire police force is funded by the liberals too right. I bet even the roads and stop lights are supported only by the liberals. Ya wanna know how i afford my house i work two jobs and live with in my means. I dont buy a bunch of **** i dont need. I ride my bike almost everywhere because i dont have to pay for gas. Also if you expect people to be honest and mature it helps if you are that was to begin with. "If you use the government for any reason then don't put liberals down if you use the public library for example." Also if your going to use lies at least use good ones that you can prove.

  18. I dont think thats really true. A lot of politicians who say they care about the poor really dont. They just trying to get elected. In reality, Conservatives give more to charity much more than Democrats or Liberals, so its all about people being all talk and no action.

  19. wealthy americans pay almost HALF their income to support lower income americans. (think about 1/2 of your income gone) You cannot say that wealthy americans don't work for their money either. Also, in america, if you want to make more money, there are many way to advance your position in life. I know many people who started out with nothing and ended up earning a good income.

I think we should have programs to support low income americans. I still think that the taxation of the upper classes is a little ridiculous.

  20. Honestly, it's about brainwashing. Let's stay away from rich and poor and talk about greedy and honest. The greedy (who also have lots of money) are very good at manipulating the honest (who usually have less money). They do this by controlling the media, watering down our education, and passing laws that keep us in the dark about the truths of this country. We're being tricked, and it's been happening for half a decade. Although, a quiet revolution of free-thinkers and people willing to fight against the brainwashing is emerging. We're called the Millennials, and we're here to fight!
