Why do Asian women and men dislike themselves?

I can't understand. Is it because they are no where to be found on American media? I'm not trolling or trying to anger anyone. But I can't always worry about being "politically correct" when asking a serious question.

Back in the days when the Europeans colonize Asia, they conquered the Asian not just by physical weapon but also psychologically. They made the Asian thought that they are inferior to the Europeans and in turn made the Asian thought that European are the standard of 'perfection', even in appearance hence many Asian still try to look European (Caucasian) until today.

The media today are also not helping. In the name of globalization they put the 'global' face or the most popular face that most likely is Caucasian (American) celebrity.

So, it's not like Asian don't like themselves, they merely try to reach the 'perfection' that is promoted by the media. You can relate this with the people that try to be as skinny as the models.

I don't know what you're talking about. All my Asian female friends are dating or married to Asian men. All my white friends want to hang out with Asians.

I'm Asian and I'm proud that I'm Asian. My hair is always perfectly shiny no matter what the humidity is. My skin is always tan and flawless. I'm not hairy on my body. Like a typical Asian, I'm smart and have a bit of cash.

Why would I want to be white?

For your information, I don't watch American Media/Movies. It's catered to white people. Because whites are the major consumers of America, that's why you see so much white propaganda in media. It doesn't make me want to be white. It makes me feel sorry for them because they don't know how to save their money. They see these things and they just spend. LOL.

I'm an Asian, and the word "dislike" seemingly does not apply to everyone. But then, it does to some.

Asians have submerged themselves to the culture of the West. So in a socio-psychological perspective, this immersion can produce certain tendencies, one of which was what your question was all about. They tend to see their race as inferior because they perceive the Western philosophies as their ideal. They tend to make themselves look like people from the West because consciously and unconsciously, they are disliking themselves.

This does not speak out for all Asians though, as what I have stressed from the beginning. Everyone has their own tendencies, and the "dislike" factor cannot apply to a race which has diversities in culture and perception.

Because they live in White America, where white people are promoted everywhere and non-whites are treated like second class citizens.  I don't hate myself though, I hate white people and everything they stand for.  I used to watch White television, but I haven't own a TV in 4 years.

Like Malcolm onced say, "..who taught you to hate the color of your skin, who taught you to hate yourself from the top of your head to the sole of your feet."

This culture just breeds self-hatred in non-white people, because they treated like their lives are not worth as much as whites.

This is a fairly racist question, Asia is the largest continent in the world & encompasses the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, South Pacific, & the tiger countries of Japan & Korea. Who's to say they don't like themselves? Every Asian I've met seems fairly comfortable in their own skin.
