I, as are most Atheists love our country. What we don't believe in is your religion.

If you understood or had read the constitution you would be aware that our nation was built upon religious freedom. What that means is that Americans have the right to choose who, what, how and if to worship.

This is not a Christian nation.

I don't believe Atheists hate America.  They hate being preached down to and wish to see a secular society not dominated by Christian thought.  Unfortunately their wish may come true with the usual unintended consequences, this time being their emancipation from religion through subjugation by the Communist Chinese.  I hear that Beijing's Central Committee doesn't look kindly upon anything based onworshipp of anything other than the state.  As such, the perfection of the (Chinese) wall between religion andgovernmentt would be attained.

Are you kidding? I remember learning in ELEMENTARY school that our Forefathers came here because they didnt want to be tied down to one religion. We have whats called freedom of religion.

But to answer your question I dont hate America, I hate Americans that think only their opinion matters and think they are right even when evidence to the contrary is presented to their face.

I love the intentions of the first settlers, man they would be pissed to see what egotistical, ignorant people have done to their country.

I can answer Why all politicians say they believe in God, its because of you. you said it yourself "I would never vote for an atheist." Yes most of the nation IS christian so even if a politician is atheist you think he isnt gonna go to church every Sunday with his/her family for the sake of appearances? Guess what, politicians lie!

Honey, Atheists don't hate America.  They hate you.  Or people like you.  In fact, Atheist, (I know spellcheck is really hard for someone like you to use), probably love America more than a lot of people.  They don't believe in the mixture of church and state, they believe in the laws of the people, equality, justice and all that.  You might say a good many of them actually walk the walk, as far as your Jesus goes.  Can't say that for a lot of fundamentalists.  

I know I will get thumbs down, I am not an atheist, but I'd rather hang out with one.  I'll get more respect for my beliefs than hanging out with people making statements like you.

Where in the constitution does it say this is a christian nation?  I'm not christian, does that mean America is not my nation?  How dare you say that!  Why can't you accept that America is a melting pot of ideas, nationalities, and religions.  Also, remember that many of our founding fathers were deists.  I doubt you would agree with Jefferson's religion.  Then again, you're just a fool.  Wow, I can't believe i wasted my time on you.

And how does religious conviction make a difference in your opinion about your country? I don't see the relation. You can belong to whichever religion you want, and you can belong to any party you wish or have any opinion about America.

I don't hate America and it isn't a Christian Nation.  It is a Nation of Religious Freedom.  If it were a Christian Nation, then everyone in it would be Required to practice Christianity.

Everyone has a God sized hole in their heart. EVERYONE DOES! They do. No matter what they say, they have a hole in their heart that is only filled by worship of God. Bottom line.

When you are lacking this in your life, you are pretty much willing to do or believe anything. That is why I would NEVER vote for an atheist for President. Can you imagine what they would do to this nation?

This nation is built on the Christian work ethic. Now, I know. You'll get a lot of "They never said that" and "You are mean!". But they won't answer the real question. They love to avoid real questions. They won't answer why every major politician and the majority of the nation believe in God.

Because they're too dumbfounded by their belief to actually see that in reality, being born or being a U.S. citizen is probably the best thing that has ever happened to them. Living in the USA is such a wonderful blessing. Don't believe me, go to one of those third world countries and see what they have to go through each and every day. Oh, and they just can't except the fact that atheists really don't exists. Because on their death beds, they as well as I know that they'll be praying. Praying to who, I don't know. It's funny how it turns out that way... but no one wants to die.

USA is not a Christian nation and has never been one.

Try reading your history books...

The country was founded on freedom of religion. People came here to escape religious oppression and perseuction. Why on earth would they dedicate this land to a specific religion if they were trying to escape from one (especially the same religion that was doing the oppressing and persecuting)?

That is why people from so many different countries came over here. They believed it to be the land of freedom.
