What's so brilliant about men who are good at sport? It's not brain surgery!

  1. In australia, men are men and women are women. They still have that value system.

  2. Actually,  I find sport soooooooooo boring as a general rule, and am dreading the next fortnight of beijing bull, lol.

Regarding the glorification of the sportsman in modern Australian society, I think 'the sportsman' is the inheritor of the social position once inhabited by 'the glorious anzac' and prior to that by the 'bronzed aussie' and the 'man from the bush'.

Those are iconic figures of Australian mateship and the very blokey culture we have inherited.

Think of Grant Hackett as the modern day Man from Snowy River, with a swim cap instead of an Akubra, lol.

    Cheers :-)

  3. idk... generally men get more respect in sports than women because of the way they were biologically made. Is it fair that when  women are just as competitive and work just as hard that they are not looked upon as much as men, no, but that is the way it's. You can not force people to treat them like Gods. But all together, I don't think any sports player should be treated like a God, unless there is really a good reason. I think people should appreciate women's sports just as much as men's, but people are too naive and shallow generally to do that.
