Why do Bee's turn red?

i was mowing the lawn the other day and a bee was "following" me and getting on my nerves. i noticed it was going from flower to flower and gradually turning red. i was also probably scaring it away with the lawn mower. What is it that caused the bee to turn red?

The bee wasn't turning red. Bees don't change color. It probably just had a lot of red pollen from the flowers it was visiting stuck to its body.
