but sometimes grow apart, only to not be best friends. I understand one friend is not where they think they should be in life, but if they were best friends why do she think that would matter to the one that got it going on.

  1. In general, when one looks for a friend, they seek common ground (same phase of life, similar interests, similar tastes, etc).  One dominant theory is that you basically are looking for someone like yourself.  As you spend more time with the person, any differences may become blurred as you embark on your friend's interests and start to subconsciously take on similar speech, mannerisms, and growing interests.  This is likely a reinforcer of the friendship since you spend enjoyable time with them.  However, if for example, one friend gets married and has children, the similarities start to end.  It becomes more difficult to relate to the person, since she has acquired new interests and perhaps widened her circle of friends to include other couples with children.  Some are able to maintain friendships long term, but like all relationships, they take work, and one has to accept change.

  2. ..because if you have a friend

..it means that your characters are the same

    ..there's a saying that

..'tell me who are your friends and ill tell you who you are'
