Question:

Why do Black people always blame the White man when they fail?

I date Black women and one of their younger brother is always saying he cannot do something because he is not White. He says he cannot get a job because he is Black. That seems like an excuse to me. Am I wrong?

  1. WOW!  What up with WWE Girl?

Of course racism can play a role in preventing a person from getting a job, and employers are affected unconsciously by elements of the entire person interviewing, (race, gender, appearance...) but it surely sounds in her brother's case like that's not it.

It can be hard not to get a "chip on your shoulder" when you see the way racism affects you.  Being watched in stores, called names, and thought of in terms that make you a lesser prospect for a job offer can almost not help but leave you bitter and angry.  -But when it's always someone else's fault, and always about race, you have to look at the other element involved.  -That it's always you!

Unless the company has no black people working for them, and you were the best candidate, but still didn't get the job, there's a good chance you just weren't qualified!  I'd like to add that, right or wrong, when society is against us, WE become responsible for changing things!  It serves no one to play victim, and it serves none of us to "play it small".  I'm a g*y male, and while I know homophobia is not right, I can't blame people for the attitudes that were bred into them, and the way things look to their eyes.  What I CAN do is be a good example of one way a g*y male can be, and through that example, and respectful dialogue, help them to know that while we are not, love is equal.  I think a similar argument can be made regarding racism.

I sympathize, but I think her brother is making excuses.  I wish the best for him.

  2. always? Way to generalize. Not all feel that way, most who feel that way are probably lazy black people who blame everyone but their them selves. Don't act like black people are the only people who blame others for their situation. Women do it all the time to men. Children blame their parents, parents blame their kids. When i lose in a video game, i blame the person next to me, "you made me lose"

  3. it is the same excuse that just about all black people use.  it just makes them look and sound even dumber than they are.

  4. You didn't get the memo?  Nobody really uses that "excuse" anymore.

  5. It does sound like an excuse. It has been proven that Blacks have a harder time doing things, like getting a job, than others races, because of racism. However, this being said, it doesn't mean that it can't be done, it just means that it is harder to achieve. Black people will have to work harder to get far in life, but using an excuse like race, just shows a lazy person, and lazy people come in every race.

  6. partly self-pity but u get those people in every race...white ppl blame blacks too..x
