Question:

Why do Blu-Rays look better on my 19 inch TV than my 32?

I was running my Blu-Ray player on a 720p/1080i 19 inch tv via component cables and the picture was AWESOME. I got a brand new Samsung 32 inch 720p/1080i and upgraded to an HDMI cable and the picture isn't as good when watching Blu-Rays, and I can't understand why. Both the player and TV are set to 1080i.

I kept factory settings, which is -

Contrast - 100

Sharpness - 74

Do these need to be adjusted? Would that make a difference?

  1. Both TVs have the same number of pixels, but one (the 19") in a smaller area than the other, so it is tougher to see all the artifacts and probably it looks sharper. This is to be expected

(Try watch a youtube video in a small window and on the whole screen and you will understand better what I am talking about)

Make sure you watch the 32" from at least 7 feet away.
