  1. to add to what king said, they have different jobs on the battlefield. the royal marines perform special operations and the US marines are ur basic infantryman. so royal marines require more training

  2. For all of the  mathematicians you need to remove the time off from the 32 weeks because the time off is not included in the 32 weeks (so it is 32 weeks solid training ).

Then they will leave for their particular detachment where their next phase of training begins! Try and read things the way they are rather than cook the books to make your selves look good.

By the way RM also means REAL marine.

  3. Well, it is because its just recruitment training. The British have a smaller military and a smaller military require a lot training. It also depends on annual training. I know for a fact the USMC does the most annul training of all the US Services.

Edit: I just look some information on it. The Royal Marines recruit training  the only part of the British forces in which both officers and recruits are trained in the same place. That can be a reason since I know Marine officer training else where.

Edit 2: I need some help here too.

In between the training, I'm not sure if I got it right but do they get to leave and come back? o.o

USMC can't leave during their 13 full week training.

Edit 3: I thought they have 5 weekends off?

So if you think about it, the USMC with their long week of training without no permission to leave and take a break compare to the RM longer week of training but they're allow to leave a take breaks. I'll say its even.

  4. because the royal marines are much more specialized than the USMC, they learn a lot more and britain has got a reputation for having highly trained soldiers

the royal marine training is also alot harder than the U.S marines, when some U.S marines went to lympston they couldnt complete one of the courses, im not sure which one tho, but they said they couldnt belive it was that difficult.

also to all the people who are saying they take weekends off so their training isnt 32 weeks etc, it is 32 weeks of training, if you include the weekends its 33 and a half weeks but they dont so its 32 weeks of sollid training

  5. US military personnel are less disciplined and less experienced at training. This is shown in death tolls (%) in the US military when compared to the British Military.

  6. time out for tea should not be counted so its about 10 weeks.

  7. I think cuz they are considered special forces or something and our Marines are just advanced infantry.

  8. there really isn't that much of a gap if you you actually look at the training

Yes Royal Marine boot camp is 32 weeks and US. Marine boot camp is only 13 weeks but keep in mind that the Royal Marines do their job specific training a at boot camp then they go directly to their unit.

Where as US. Marine infantry will spend 13 weeks at boot camp then go to the School of Infantry with is 59 days long. so lets do some math 13 weeks of boot camp + 8 weeks of SOI = 21 weeks of " training"

Plus keep in mind that The Royal Marines have the week ends off during their training where the US Marines do not.

So lets do some more math 32 weeks = 224 days

224 days - 64 days off= 159 days of training for the Royal Marine

Now for the US Marines 13 weeks equals 91 days of boot camp + 59 days of SOI = 150 days of training.

So in conclusion the Royal Marines receive 159 days of training compared to the 150 days of training that the US Marines get

So the Royal Marines are trained for 9 extra days

  9. I guess that last idiot didnt understand real answers huh lol... but anyway... They have a longer basic training because the are entitled to classes such as airborne and special schools to become a british royal marine... They are highly trained in special martial arts and training our military doesnt provide unless they apply for it after basic training is over... and the marines dont call it basic training they call it BOOT CAMP which sounds stupid to me...
