Why do CALIFORNIANS have such HIGH voices?

Why is the typical Californian accent so high pitched? especially for men.

Generalizing is not a safe thing to do, and once one indulges in it, immediately there is an exception that proves the whole thing to be off.  I have lived in California for 39 years, and I have not observed this to be true.  Maybe your acquaintances are just doing that.

**My husband is from California and I fell in love with his wonderful deep voice.  It must be the Californians you talk to.  Since I lived in that state for over 40 years, I don't think I ever noticed that.  But then, maybe compared to the area you live, the voices are higher pitched.  I'll start noticing here in PA

thats not what I was told ..  People tell me that I sound like a r****d cuz i mispronounce mirror and water.  I really dont care  what they think, because my boss gets a backache when he gives me my paycheck, because it's so heavy

I dont think i have a high voice at all.And every human is different some people have a high voice some low it has nothing to do with where you are from.There are people in china who have high voices and low.How about you whats your voice like ?
