I'm curious, why do people love Tim Horton's? The coffee is just cheap Mexican low-land robusta. Have any of you Tim lovers ever tried freshly ground Kenyan, Papua new guinea, Ethiopian, Sumatra, Kona, French, etc, etc?

I don't need answers like "duh, it's great, I love Tims" . The best answer will be from the Tims lover who explains to me why they feel Tim's coffee deserves its reputation.

  1. I worked there for years, and it's just traditional, it's cheap, and most of the time great customer service that's quick also makes a difference. People are too use to it, and don't want to change something that has nothing wrong with it. It's always fresh (most of the time) and people are usually in a hurry. Plus we don't have too many places like Tim Hortons, that are same price range, and most Tim Hortons have drive-thrus not like Starbucks or 2nd cup where you can get those other kind of brews that you mentioned.

  2. To me Tim Horton's is baseline coffee. I go there mainly due to convenience. If there is a Second Cup closer I will go there and usually do, but it's not like I am going to not have a coffee if I can't get to a second cup. I really hate Starbucks coffee (it's way to strong for me).

So by going to Tim's I am not saying it is the best coffee, just the most convenient sometimes. When it's 12 pm and you are driving around or don't want to stand in a long line with people ordering no foam low fat soy americanos.
