Why do Chinese tv shows make characters get all excited at Caucasian people?

In a lot of Chinese tv shows, anytime a mixed Caucasian-Chinese person appears appears, it's a big deal. If a full Caucasian person appears (especially the typical blonde blue eyed American woman), even more of a big deal is made. Why is this?

I've never actually heard that before, to tell you the truth. I think it's because the Chinese are so facinated with us Westerners. That's my best guess.

To the Mainland Chinese, the features of the Caucasians are exotic and most of the Chinese, especially the women wants to "copy" those features.  That explains why so many Chinese women are having plastic surgeries for double eyelids, bee-stung lips, higher bridge noses, etc!!  I have seen a few women in Shanghai with really blonde hair and wearing blue or green contact lenses......weird looking for Asian features but that's life in China!!  They want to follow everything that's westernized even though it makes them looks really ridiculous sometimes.  

Chinese likes to stare at westerners from head to toes.  Sometimes, a bunch of silly women would stare and giggles among themselves when staring at a white guy.  I guess these women (and men)  never did learn or know that's staring and laughing at strangers are bad manners.

How man white men would get excited if a young beautiful exotic Asian girl appeared on a western TV| show.

Hex is right this time. I would get excited by a beautiful Asian girl.

But I do know that not all blonds are beautiful, and not all Chinese males get excited at ugly blonds.

Because there are far more Chinese people in America than there are Americans in China.  When they see an American it's an event where as here we just ignore everyone
