  1. old testament was primary for Israel .the new is for all humans on earth. but there is awesome wisdom in the old to learn from.

  2. i think i gave u a good answer before

  3. All "use" the Old Testament.  It's just that those who are living in the sinful anti-g*y lifestyle pick out two verses and "use" them to revile g*y people while ignoring everything else in the OT.  It's called "Pick and Choose" Christianity.  They "use" the OT to further their own agenda which is to justify the homophobia in their hearts, not to glorify God.

  4. the old testament does not exist it just the testament

  5. If you think Christians throw out the New Testament and don't use the Old Testament, they wouldn't be Christians would they? And there were no Christians in the Old Testament. True Christians know the whole Bible is the word of God so we do use all of it.

  6. The true fool:

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

  7. Christ came and corrected all the BS the jews currently believe.

  8. People do  use the old testament but I think they use the new one because it relates more to the world now.  The word has change so much and seems the new testament is more understandable.  It relates to what is going on now in our world since the world is ffull of evil.  Just my opinion

  9. the old testament was created before the earth ended the first time by water (hences the great flood) this time it will end by fire. then we won't need a testimate because all the christians will be on the final earth god will create

  10. I'm not a Bible literalist, and I'm also a bit of a "liberal Catholic" in that I trust my own conscience over what any book says (even the Bible).

There are many things in the Old Testament that strike me as immoral. As I'm not a theologian, I admit that I could just be interpreting them wrong, but interpreting them as best I can, many of them seem wrong.

Doing the best I can, I just cannot accept a lot of the Old Testament.

I don't know why other Christians don't listen to a lot of the Old Testament, but my reasons could possibly be shared by some of them.

Most Christians do use the New Testament...however even that can be confusing to me. A lot of it seems like it could easily be interpreted in more than one way.

  11. I'm quite confused. In what way to Christians not use the New Testament? In my experience, it's the opposite - most Christians are not nearly as familiar with the Old Testament as they are with the New.

  12. OK seriously what are you talking about? First you ask why Christians throw out the NT. Now you're asking why Christians don't use the OT

Like I said, the OT and NT are EQUAL and EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Christians do not ignore either the OT or the NT.

  13. i do not throw out the old testament. i know that it is the Jewish law. the old testament is a excellent source.

also, i was kind enough not to insult you as you did me. but that is fine.

hope the rest of your evening goes well.

  14. They do use the Old Testament

-Where do you think "Literal Creationists" get their distorted views from ?

  15. Most Christians I know use the Old Testament.  It goes hand in hand with the new Testament.

No throwing it out by me!

  16. So, you're calling people fools, yet you can't even speak clearly?

    LOL

  17. Because if they did, they'd be Jews.

  18. They do. However, they only use the few parts that make their religion look good. The rest is completely ignored.

  19. It is too violent and creepy for even them to defend.  So, they did what fundies always do....they just changed "god's" word.   They are very good at changing rules, and labeling discredited bible stories as "parables."   It says NOWHERE in the bible that the Noah story is a parable, but many fundies have decided that it is.

  20. In short, the reason we don't follow the Old Testament law is because when Jesus Christ was crucified for our sin, he was the ultimate sacrifice. He shed his innocent blood to cover a multitude of sin.  The temple vain was rent in two, signafying that the old covenant was over and there was a new one.

The bible talks about the old testament (or covenant) being a schoolmaster, teaching us. Christ coming and being the final sacrifice for us fulfills all the prophecies and law in the O.T.

As Christians we are supposed to live a holier life than those in the O.T.  Christ talks about not only living the letter of the law, but the Spirit of the law. In other words, not only can you not kill your brother, you can't even hate him. Having hate in your heart is as murder.

BTW, I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted. I didn't see part one...

  21. They cherry pick what they want from it.

Like the rule about eating pork is mute; but against being g*y is eternal.

  22. They do follow it. Whoever told you they didn't was wrong. Not only do they follow it, it's studied before the new testament. The new testament is simply what is read from more often, since the old testament doesn't mention Jesus.

Also, did you know that Shaksphere re-wrote the bible? Who knows how much bullshit he out in to it.
