Why do Civic Amenity Sites not have a special bin for Dysons?

Our local dump on any given day has several Dysons waiting to be allocated space in either the general rubbish area or electrical goods area.

Why do dumps not have a special 'Dyson' section?

  1. Why not have them for Hoover and Dyson as well or are you trying to say that Dyson vacuums are rubbish if so I would totally agree.

  2. They are obvious at the CA sites because they are soo bright and because of the WEEE (Waste Electronics and Electrical Equipment) Directive.

Basically anything with a plug cannot be landfilled directly now so it's taken apart for materials or reused by fixing it. That means they have to put it aside at the CA and so its why you see it. It'll be pilled up along with the other electrics to be collected by the firm appointed by the site contractor. No need for its own section.

They do seem to be part of disposable culture.
