Question:

Why do Democrats always say stupid things?

I'm sorry I don't know the name of the man who I'm talking about here, maybe someone who answers this will.

But at the Democratic Convention, a man was ragging on McCain for owning 7 homes... Claiming that's not the 'American Dream' (Not sure how a prisoner of war going on to own 7 homes isn't the American Dream?) He said the American Dream is to own only 1 home.

Can anyone please explain how that makes sense. I'm watching Fox News and they were just discussing that. They were saying it was a very dumb thing for him to say and that it "Puts a cap on the American Dream"

Oh, and during Bush's tenure there have been 17 million first time home-owners, most ever. How's that for the American Dream? However, it's not Bush's fault that people bought homes they couldn't afford or bought multiple homes in an attempt to "flip" them. So if you blame him for the foreclosures, you're being ridiculous.

Liberals, please respond with an educated answer.. Not something stupid like "Bush is dumb, etc"

  1. Bush is dumb...you even said it urself.  :)

  2. Saying stupid things is the Democratic Party's platform.

They were in a position to sweep the nation this year and can't close the deal, Wanna know why?  They say stupid things.

  3. Well ignoring the fact that you lumped a third of the country's population together...

Are you going to let one person define an entire group?

  4. Why do conservatives mindlessly lump everybody that is not a republican into a massive group based on a stereotype.

And as fas a people saying stupid things, would you please look who our president is?  You want somebody saying stupid things, "I look forward to a day when the human and the fish can live together in peace."  That is a bush quote.  Now if that is your dogma, then umm, perhaps this question should be turned around a little bit!

edit:  and fox news would say something like that.  McCain's life has been one of privilege.  His family was full of military big wigs and he was known as a not so competent soldier.  I'm not saying he deserved to be in a POW camp, nobody does, but you can't tell me that a rich guy who just got richer when he got back, after he cheated on his invalid wife and married the woman with whom he cheated, is a prime example of the American dream.  Fox News sells nothing but lies and propoganda.  Perhaps you should try having an original thought.

  5. It is the American dream, but i think u misscomprehendeded them ,what they were trying to say was too get a point across to the low and middle class Americans that he does not relate to them as much as OBAMA who came from a rough background, and who worked for his dream unlike McCainin who was born into wealth.:)

  6. Whatever they say is often based upon public schooling.

  7. Initially, the issue started with McCain not even knowing how many homes he owns (turns out to be 7), yet he calls Obama "elitist".

As to what you watched on tv, I can't say...sounds like a silly program you were watching.

  8. They're Democrats.

  9. I'm sorry but you're in the minority.  Less than 1/4 of the population approves of President Bush.  The least popular president in the history of the USA.  If you can delude yourself into thinking that the current state of the economy is not partially a result of his choices then you are living in dream land.

I can also see that you have no grasp on financial aspects when you say things like "it's not Bush's fault that people bought homes that they couldn't afford or bought multiple homes in an attempt to 'flip' them."  Learn about how variable interest rates work and why his choice to go to war and his failure to recognize the downturn resulted in all these people losing their homes.

  10. Your question incites a reactionary tone for anyone who takes it seriously.  It's very insulting and generalizing.  Ignoring the rant aspects, "why do Democrats always say stupid things?"  I'm not really sure your basis is valid.  FDR was a Democrat and much of what he said has been largely considered good ideas for half a century.

On the other hand, to address the liberal you're upset with, I don't think there should be a cap on the American Dream either.  What I do think there should be is a cap on the income of public servants.  A senator is by no means poor or even average anymore.  They are supposed to serve the public yet, they make much more money than most of the people they serve.  McCain's houses are mostly due to his wife's good fortune and he can't be faulted for that.  I think  what a lot of Democrats have issue with is that he doesn't even know the extent of his own wealth.  It's so vast that he doesn't even care how many homes he owns.

How does that compare to your person that bought a home and is losing it to foreclosure?  Not everyone had the foresight to know that a variable rate loan would cause them to lose their house.  That's why new anti-predatory lending laws are being implemented.  If your issue is with real-estate speculators then, I agree with you that they are getting the back end of a bad gamble.  But, if you're talking about a family that is about to be put on the street by a bank, then I think you're completely off base.

  11. Bush is dumb...

Edit: Um ben, 30% is more then a quarter, but i hear their giving out vouchers for failed "No child left behind" students

  12. It's in their nature to say stupid things?????

  13. well if that wasnt a loaded question i dont know what is.

  14. I'm not sure what his name was either, but I know who you're talking about.

The Democrats are just trying to make McCain out as some rich snob who can't connect with the "average American"  even though past Democratic presidential candidates John Kerry and John Edwards are even wealthier than McCain.  It's just another hypocritical statement made by liberals.

  15. In the words of Forest Gump:  "Stupid is as stupid does".
