    Our natural resources are, without any doubt or question whatsoever, the absolute MOST IMPORTANT asset we have.

    Which is precisely and logically why we understand that we cannot destroy the environment just to line the pockets of a few.

    That would be....well.... stupid. And un-American.


  2. When a country neglects its own natural resources and focuses on selling/importing non-native goods, THAT'S when their environment is at risk.

    Look at Brazil. They'd rather grow soy beans and cattle than make effective use of the Amazon, so they cut down acres and acres of it to make more farms and ranches. Using it for timber (as well as medicine and food) would actually save it from total destruction in the future. It seems they'd rather employ a quick fix to their economic problems, though.

  3. I don't see conservatives try to conserve anything regarding the environment, thus your premise is incorrect.

    If your idea of an "asset" is to liquidate it, then you have much to learn about economics as well.
