Why do Europeans hate the European UnionI saw?

I saw a video a month back about how some European citizens really dont like the European Unions influence and ideology. Why is this,,,As an African I think the EU is a perfectly good organisation and I dont seem much of a problem.

There are some rumors which scary most of the people like:

If a country joins European Union it will loose his Name, Language, Tradition, Culture, Identity becoming just a part of the "European State"...  

That is false in my opinion... the only thing you loose is the need for passport. The things you win is free traveling between member states, living, working, trading...

Does anybody thinks that Italy. France, Spain, UK or any other country lost any of the following after joining the Union? - Name, Language, Tradition, Culture, Identity???

It is dominated by French and Germans and that does not sit well with people in some countries who have historically had bad relations with both.

I'm very pro European as are most Irish. That doesn't mean I agree with all decisions and appointments but find me a place where everyone is supposed to be completely satisfied with their government and I'll show you a tyranny.

A lot of Europeans are happy with the EU, a lot don't care either way. Lou is a perfect example. She thinks there will "never be war" under the EU. The media in Europe has been brainwashing people for years to support their agendas. Being pro-EU has been their agenda for a long time. Unelected beaurocrats in Brussels run the EU, it is undemocractic and corrupt.

There are lot of people who aren't happy with the EU for many, many different reasons, some think it's taking a way their national identity, some just see it as a mountain of useless bureaucracy. The truth is that the EU is one of the best things in the world EVER and if countries like the UK (where there are a lot of people who whinge and whine about it because they read idiotic newspapers) were to pull out of the EU our economies would totally collapse. There will never be a war in Europe again and that's thanks to the EU, I just hope we become more involved with it, not less! Imagine if the African League of Nations was as effective as the EU - that really would be amazing!!
