Why do Europeans have a lot of hatchbacks and coupes and little cars?

While Americans have the big SUVs and the huge sedans and you rarely see any hatchbacks?

Europeans have hatchbacks, coupes, and small cars because the price of gas is out of control in Europe, now up to about 8 pounds or euro. Whatever the currency is its expensive

The price of gas in Europe has always been  three or four times higher that in the USA. So they've had to learn to drive more economical vehicles. They tax motor fuels to pay for highway infrastructure as well as health care. Now it's our turn !!!!
