Why do FMX riders ride 2 strokes?

Question

i have had a couple of people tell me i should buy a 4 stroke when i get a new bike. they tell me that companies aren't going to be making 2 strokes anymore. most motocross riders i see ride 4 strokes but almost all fmx riders ride 2 strokes. why is this? are they going to switch to 4 strokes when they stop making 2 strokes?
