Why do Fig Newtons taste like sand is in them?

Why do Fig Newtons taste like there is sand or broken glass in them? Do they just grind up the entire thing and there are seeds in them or what? Yuck.

    im totally kiding but they are grainy thats all its prob. the seed of what ever.. but they r still ok...

  10. It's the itty bitty seeds inside of the figs (similar to the seeds on the outside of a strawberry or raspberry)...... try one of the other flavors (like apple)

  13. Cool, I thought I was the only one who thought that! It must be the seeds from the fruit that makes the Figs so awkward tasting.

  16. most of the fruit is seeds, and even the fruit flesh has a grainy texture!  If you don't like them, they also make newtons in other fruit flavors!

  18. It's just the seeds in them as it was grinded down.
