Why do Filipinos look like Mexican?

Question

Seriousely they do. why? i CANT tell the difference, the only way i could is if they speak their language. please dont giv me that "philippines was once a spanish colony" c**p, I KNOW that already, but even my filipino friends who claim to have no spanish or mexican blood do look mexican

a great deal of races can resemble each other. i'm japanese/german/italian and people tell me i look Filipino. it just depends on people's features i guess.

a good number of them do. visit the philippines esp manila and cebu. you'll see a lot of hispanic looking people. but most belong to the middle class and the elite. lower class filipinos look more malay/indonesian. while middle class and upper class look more mixed of malay, spanish and chinese.

I know because my wife is a beautiful filipina who looks like jessica alba =)

if you know the answer,you should travel the philippines! if you travel all over the philippines such as churches,malls,bus terminals,in the market,or anywhere that has many people and you'll be surprised to see different faces,different looks,different personality,different dialect or languages. it's true! and your answer will be answered!

some filipinos look spanish half chinese, some look like half white half asian, some look really filipino, some really look chinese or japanese or taiwanese or korean, some really look spanish, some really look malaysian.  all in all it's mixed of nationality. I my self Im a filipino but i look like half spanish,half chinese or korean and my eye color is light brown and my hair is not pure black it's like brown black. my mother she said her father is not pure filipino, and my grand pa has a blood of chinese, I my self really dont know the history or background of my family long years ago...
