I mean Alcohol, it is a legal drug and it does the same damage if not more! And of course they get tax cut from the dealer's bling! Why dont they legalize all drugs and not only alcohol(and Nicotine) Why are drug dealers considered despicable but Brewery concerns/off licence alcohol 'retailers' are considered decent businessman therefore they get a licence to sell a drug called alcohol?

  1. Such taxes are disincentive taxes.

You are absolutely right that alcohol is a far bigger social evil that all illegal drugs.  (Just been around so long)

  2. This government would tax the air we breathe if they could. Thinking about it if they legalise drugs and tax them they would have more money. Just a thought.

  3. I think we have a little bit of twisted logic here

  4. because the drug trade is harder to be regulated by the government, therefore harder to tax.

  5. "not every illegal drug user is an addict either!"

Most illegal drugs are extremely addictive, with the exception of a few. Go and read Trainspotting (or watch the film if you want), and then ask again why so many of the harder drugs are illegal. You can guarantee that if everyone started taking heroin we'd all be addicted. Alcohol can be addictive but no where near as much as other drugs.

It's already bad enough seeing the state some people get themselves in when they have a drug addiction, I'd hate to see what might happen if hard drugs were made readily available to the general public. The only drug which should be made legal is cannabis (not at all physically addictive, unlike nicotine, only occasionally psychologically addictive but very rarely and can also be very helpful for certain medical problems such as arthritis), and only if it's production and distribution is controlled.

  6. Now I wonder what's causing your brain to come up with that kind of logic?
