I really want to know, I don't know where this hate is coming from...I ride a Yamaha R1, all of a sudden everyone bashes it. I do trackdays, I wear full gear and a reflective vest, I don't do 135 mph wheelies through town...

  1. We don't all hate you. This site is the only place i've ever seen all this c**p.Good to hear you ride responsibly.See ya out there on the road.

  2. I don't hate sport bikes.  Actually, I've owned 4 very nice ones in the past, and I still enjoy taking one for a spin on occasion.

What gets me are the people who pose as sport bikers, and continually bash on American made v-twins, when they obviously have no experience on two wheels or any clue what they are trying to talk about.

I view most of the things here strictly as entertainment.  I enjoy a good laugh, and can even crack a joke at my own expense from time to time.  Occasionally, I may even learn something or help someone else learn something from my experience, but those are rare occasions.

  3. Hi!, from Italy! I think is for rivalry.. Ancient rivalry, because Harley is a legend, but sportbikes is the future..

In Italy there's no this problem, because all bikers are a family like a wolfs pack.. It's beautiful look they rides togheter on Sunday and they have a grill with beer, near the motorcicles, and after the pack go to home "on the road". Sometimes they uses make a concert only for bikers (like in Osoppo Friuli shire) and listen rock, drink beer, go to girls, (usually bikers), and change opinions for spare parts..

The concert is look from the police, is in a reserved area, no conflict with civils.. Good Idea!

    Ok! See you! Musashi

  4. I wonder why people answer this question? It's in here about 3 times a week. Some times it's the other way around. It seems to me it's just to get some bashing started. Personally, I hate everybody, but I can be bought.

  5. Harley riders don't hate sportbikes, they hate the smarta$$es who ride them and bash Harleys.

  6. I think it is in return for all of the sport bike riders bashing the Harley riders in this section.

To me, it doesn't matter what you ride.  It doesn't matter if it is a cruiser, sport bike, standard bike, scooter, etc.  Most people ride what they like and can afford.  It doesn't matter, as long as you get out to ride and have fun.  Just as long as you aren't endangering other people on the road.

  7. Sport bikes  get bashed because of all the squids out there riding them that do the illegal  dangerous stuff that is who

the bashing is for. Sure there are some that ride that feel they need get up on every-ones butt that rides something different buy for the most part it directed towards the squids with their stunts.

  8. it wouldnt matter if you rode or not,we still wouldnt like you

shaun.....tiss better to be a skinhead than a skinner.....

i hate everybody equally, does that make me a racist ?

just pretend that everybody is green,....the dark green ones still sit in the back of the bus though

  9. just to clarify, i don't hate sportbike riders (other than the squids, which sport bikes hold the greatest number, but there are certainly squids out there on cruisers - both import and domestic)

i do hate asian.  i've owned many myself, probably will again too, but feel pretty shameful to support an asian economy over our own.  as long as there is a feasible alternative to asian, i will always choose it, sometimes you can't help it... like electronics, i know my tv and home theater are from japan, but what can you do?  if it's like 10 or 15 years old, then maybe an asian bike or used bike parts are back on the table because that's already money long gone to japan, buying them used now doesn't send any new money there.... the problem is, an old japp bike is never as appealing as an old harley.... they do not stand up like a harley does, in spite of amf and jokes and such... an old harley still lasts

and besides, most crotch rockets are ugly, top heavy, uncomfortable, and high maintenance... there are only a few that do anything for me.... buell, ducati, and triumph

  10. troll

  11. We don't

  12. Personally I believe it's something people pick up from their friends who do the same thing, and try to imitate them to look cool. I just finished my MSF course, which was taken at a Harley shop. Even though I prefer the sportbike look and feel, I still had a blast with everyone there at the shop who, of course, rode cruisers. A cyclist is a cyclist because they love motorcycles and love to ride, and anyone out there on the road should know what I'm talking about. The majority of hate comes from people who don't ride, and most of them also feel like they have to do stunts and special tricks to impress a crowd or an individual. This is not the case.

Love your fellow bikers and show them respect, and most importantly, enjoy the ride!

  13. i dont think all of them do but there certainly is a lot of hatin. Im guessing its very much like the ATV and Dirtbikers out there.

THanks for your answer on the Scorpion 1000.  I just watched the youtube video for it and fell in love

  14. 3 reasons.

    1.  It goes both ways.  I'm tired of hearing people say Harleys are slow and break down a lot.  The quality is fantastic (real metal instead of chromed plastic) and they are pretty quick off the line.  Way quicker than my old Honda Shadow 1100.

    2.  Sport bikers who do 135 mph wheelies on the highway really give you guys a bad name.  I'm sick of them, too.

    3.  Every annoying 14 year old kid thinks he knows everything about bikes because he's read a Yamaha brochure.  It gets really annoying.  Sure, you know how much HP an R1 has, but let's see you rebuild the forks.

  15. Same olde question ............... same olde answers.

If you kids don't all behave I'm kicking you out of the sandbox.

    PEACE OUT!

  16. my harley feels like a giant sportbike
