  2. the ridge is primates and when humans used to have it was to support the other facial bones. it was a tructure that pretected the weaker bones from breaking. as we developed, our chins grew and created a structure that was able to support more bone structure, no longer needing the supraorbital ridge.

  3. It was one of those weird quirks of evolution brought on by the invention of the Hat, which made the Supraorbital Ridge unnecessary.

Dietary patterns...  There is a greater supraorbital ridge among primates that must rely on massive chewing.  It is believed by some researchers that less pronounced brow ridges and sagittal crests were reduced after the ability to cook food thereby making the food softer and thus less muscles needed to chew.
