Question:

Why do I Black Out Constantly?

I'm 14 years old and I quite often black out, sometimes to the point where I can't see anything. It happens between 1-5 sometimes 10 times a day. I'm not overweight. I am 6 foot 140 lbs and I have an athletic build. It usually happens when I get up from sitting or laying down. Even if I get up really slow, it will still happen. Sometimes I will stand up and walk and then 10 seconds later I start to blackout. Any information will be helpful.

  1. What you're describing is called "orthostatic hypotension."  Your brain is not getting enough oxygenated blood upon standing, so it sends signals to your body to get horizontal as soon as possible.  It's impossible to diagnose the cause of this disorder without diagnostic testing.  Please make an appointment in the very near future with your pediatrician.  He/she will probably refer you to a pediatric cardiologist to assess the situation.

  2. It's due to circulation. Whether you sit or lay down, do not get up suddenly. Let's say you lay down, sit on the bed for a while then get up.

Have you ever see doctor? You should,it's is dangerous
