Why do I always do multiplication in my head?

Question

When ever I'm not doing anything important I always start doing simple and complex multiplication in my head without realizing or wanting to. I can also carry on a conversation at the same time. It doesn't irritate me or anything, but I want to know why it happens.

You have a very technical mind. Do you get good grades in math? You should go to college to study something mathematical like engineering. (Assuming your still in school lol)
