Why do I always get angry and aggitated by this?

There is one brother that I see and talk to at the Masjid...well...try to talk to at least. Our conversations have never been on the same page to begin with. But..nowadays.He keeps talking about his work....I try and tell him about mine..I tell him that I like my job..and I'm going to school to be an engineer and maybe I'll try and be one for my current company...I tld him this a few times already...but all that comes out of his mouth is.....stuff like...you can try and work hear..you can try and work there.....you can get a job doing this....you can get a job doing that......you can get a job testing video games......you can work where I work. And I usually get very irritated and end up avoiding having conversations with him....I can't figure out why I get irritated..Am I missing something here? Is he jealous? Am I sensing his jealously? Is that something to get irritated about?

lol..I understand!! I hate it when ppl suggest stuff as if they know everything,just try to talk 2 him about a diffrent subject,don't don't talk about work...'kay?

I guess he's the Suggester. He's more attuned to getting you to try other experiences, not acknowledging that you're your own person, and you have certain likes/dislikes. Just like he does.

Maybe next time, you can just tell him that you're happy with what you're pursuing, and you genuinely have an interest in it. Don't let him interrupt you with suggesting other alternatives. If you make your point and standing clear, I'm sure he will stop with his Suggesting attitude.

I think you shouldn't have to get angry or think too much about this. He might just want you to get a job somewhere with him and is just trying to encourage you in a way that isn't irritating. Try telling him that you enjoy your job. He might stop. I don't have a brother, but having a sister is almost like that right?

hmm well i think you should just talk about other stuff with this person and hopefully insh'allah you wont be irritated as much

The brother is jealous, so just put him on your block list and ignore him.
