Question:

Why do I always think about death now?

I'm 16 and I mean, generally, I'm a very optimistic, happy person who loves life. Lately though, I can't stop thinking about death. It's always on my mind! I just keep thinking about how short life is and how insignificant we all really are on this Earth. That maybe all these things I believe in and stand up for (I'm sort of...really an activist) are all a waste of time considering the fact we all die soon. and I hate this! I hate this mindset, but it feels so true.

Can someone please help me? I would really appreciate it!

  1. Dear,

The only solution not to die is not to be born. If one is born, definitely, he has to die. If you are interested, shall I explain the Islamic view of death?

One who think always about death is a good believer in Islamic point of view. and he must be prepared always for a trip back to the eternal life in the other world. The life here in this world is only temperory and we are all travellers here. Life is a long journey, and we are all in that journy now. On earth we are taking rest for a while, just like a traveller takes rest under the shade of a tree for a few minutes to refresh. Yes, that is the life on earth. The real life is after the death; the life after death in the world here after. Truely, there is such a life and such a world. I don't know about your belief and concept of God, but the human intelligence itself advocates for such a world, a world where the man should be rewarded for all his good deeds and be punished for all the bad and sins.

A killer who has committed hundred murders has to be punished. On earth, our law can give him a maximum punishment of a death penalty. He could be hanged to death only once. and that is for one murder. The other 99 murders are left unpunished. Only The God's court can give him a just and suitable punishment. If he is left unpunished for 99 murders, it would be a big injustice done to all his 99 preys.

Just like this, one who did immense welfare activities for the welfare of the human kind, his true reward cannot be given here in this world, he will be rewarded by God the Almighty in the paradise.

God created us to worship him alone. Actually who is God, He is our creator. Therefore, we should worship only our Creator who created us and not His creatures such as prophets, or "mahathmas" or idols or "Dargas"( graves of holy men) or trees or animals like cows, rats, monkeys etc.

To put it short, the life on this earth is a test of God. The one who performs well in the test will be rewarded well and one whose performance is poor will be failed in it, and thereby, will be punished by God.

Learn more and lead an optimistic life. wish you all success and a happy and peaceful mind.

  2. I've become more consumed with thoughts of death since the death of my father, but I think in general death is this intriguing, mysterious THING that we all wonder about but don't know for sure.  Everyone loves a good mystery, right?

As for the brevity and insignificance... I think that we leave our imprint on this world more than we really know.  Don't you think that your activist activities (that sounded weird, but you know what I'm saying) could spur someone else into action, who could inspire more people, etc, etc?  You yourself may not turn things upside down, but you could be the beginning of the turn.

I read a book once by a well-known psychic who said that we live many "lives" and from each one we learn something that makes us better in the next "life."  I consider the good things I do and the lessons I learn in my life to be extra credit for next time. :)

**I'm sorry if this sounds hokey, but anything's possible, right?

  3. If life is short then it is even more important to pack a lot of living and joy into the time we do have.

  4. I also got disturbed whenever I had a thought of death when I was your age and the same thing still haunts me even now at the age of 38. Actually, it is the mindset and we can't change it.The only thing that can help is to keep yourself busy in the activities which make you happy. It will release the stress related to the reality of death which is very true. Otherwise, the pressure will take you to a point where a balloon gets burst. I also feel that sometimes death also comes as a relief coz it ends our sorrows both physical as well as emotional. And my personal observation is that nothing ends for ever only the form changes. Like you can't make the water to disappear . You can only convert it into gaseous, solid or liquid form. I think the same rule applies in case of death & to every object in the universe just like 2 + 2 always make 4.  I wish you good luck.

  5. you're right bro...life is short...so smoke, drink, have fun, and  live life to the fullest cause it will all be over way too quick

  6. I know where your coming from.

I think everyone has thought about that one time or another.

Like, were actually going to be GONE in like 100 or less/more years!

    That's insane!

What I try to do is just think about right now, like what your doing at the moment.

Take one say at a time.

When you think about that stuff you will be thinking all your life.

Try not to think about it and just have fun.
