Question:

Why do I constantly have shadows under my eyes?

I know I don't sleep less than normal people my age (I'm 18), but I always have shadows under my eyes, and I always have... and when I really don't sleep enough, they get even darker, which shouldn't be humanly possible. I have light skin, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Anyone know why? Is it because I'm abnormal (which I would settle for, I don't mind looking like the undead) or should I sleep more than normal people? Do you think this is just normal in my case, because I've had them for a really really long time, or will they turn into hideous bags under my eyes?

  1. Have you been experiencing more stress than usual or at all?   That maybe a problem.  Otherwise, I think it is normal.  Try putting cucumbers over you eyes for a few minutes and see if that will eleviate the problem.

  2. Dark circles under your eyes has nothing to do with getting enough sleep The skin under your eyes is very thin and the capillaries in the area are very tiny and can break easily, leaking blood in the area, making your skin look dark under your eyes -- just like a bruise.

There's nothing wrong with you, and really nothing you can do about it.

This won't lead to "bags" under your eyes.  Bags are something you can inherit from your parents or bring on by not getting enough sleep, eating too many salty foods which make you retain fluid in the area, or from frequent congestion.  If you don't want to remove them by a surgical eyelift then you can reduce the puffiness by putting a cold compress on your eyes. Cold cucumber slices or frozen tea bags work the same way.

  3. just asked the same question to my ent and he said that it is bad cirrculation of blood in your face and the shadow is actuallly blood that is just slower and shows more just how were made i dont think there is anything you can do about it
