  1. how about a kite?

  2. I'm not sure it's a sign of evolution. It might be us remembering our genetic history in the forests of Africa.

I liked to climb trees when I was a kid. I liked the 3-D environment. Oddly enough, I know several certified pilots who are also certified divers and others that are rock climbers. I think it's a 3-D thing, and a throw-back to a much earlier era.

And yes, I'm now an FAA cert. balloonist, and seldom climb trees.

  3. Mankind has always shown a drive to go to new places. Just remember, you have to land eventually. I love to fly, but the Earth's crust is home. No matter what you fly, it'll bring you back to the surface.

  4. So apparently you have some evolving to do, like the rest of us.

So go out and fly something.  Look up "flight instruction" in your local yellow pages.  Call and make an appointment for an introductory flight.  It will cost you about $50.  Then you will know how it really feels, and have a better idea of what kind of flying you want to do and what will be involved.

    Good luck!
