Why do I feel like I have a sun burn the day after I drink?

The day after I have a few drinks, (it has to be more than one) my face feels like it is sun burnt why is this?

  1. You could have Alchohol Flush Reaction, which is common (see link below), or, and I'm not sure your age, a mild case of Rosacea. One common side effect of Rosacea, an inflammation of the skin typically found when you've reached middle age, is a flushing and tingling or burning sensation in the face after consuming alchohol, or spicy foods.  It isn't unheard of for a young person to have rosacea, but it's less common than for older men and women.   Scan the links below for AFR and Rosacea and see if that helps.

    I have Rosacea which is barely noticeable most of the time, but the day after I drink, I have mild red skin on my face which feels hot and flush, and then I break out in small blemishes.  Boy, those cocktails better be worth it, I think ... because the blemishs are never fun. They go away when I lay off the foods and beverages which bring it on, but it's a beeyotch to deal with.


  2. Hmmmm - interesting - probably b/c you're dehydrated, skin is tight and flushed - drink tons of water - it will help...
