Question:

Why do I find it hard to get along with people at work?

In the past, I always got fired from every part time job. I've finally finished my degree & I'll be a registered teacher this week. I'm so scared though that I'll do something wrong to make a staff member not like me & get me fired. This is bad bc it makes me unconfident. How do I get rid of this phobia? I didn't care about all the other silly part time jobs but now I am scared of being fired from my career. How do I get over this?

  1. go in with confidence!! sure you will be fine!! go in with the right attitude if you think you are going to get fired or no1 will like you then they wont you need to be possitive and things will be fine!!

  2. Just be natural and yourself. If you attempt not to be yourself, your colleagues will sense this and tend to be more cautious around you.

  3. don't try to hard or else they will find flaws in whatever you do. usually when you try to hard to make a good impression you make more mistakes. so be yourself, and just remember what you learned. mainly just relax and remember that you are your own person and you don't need to impress any one.

  4. Have you ever thought that you aren't good at your job which is the reason you get fired? Are you actively seeking positions in an industry where you do not fit? If you have just become a teacher, have the PT jobs you have been taking been in the education industry?

There is obviously something wrong here as most people in Management have action plans in place for people who have differences with other staff members. You need to remember that it costs a lot for a company to recruit someone, provide them with training, uniform etc. They wouldn't just fire you for not getting along with a staff member.

Focus on your teaching, as long as the kids are getting good grades in your class, you don't need to worry about other staff members.

  5. idk but i sorta have the same problem. but i just don't feel like converstaing with the people at work. maybe cause they all 10 or 20 or more years older then me.

don't worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will worry about its self. <<< i don't know where i heard that but i heard it somewhere.

  6. You need to care about the silly part time jobs you were fired from because by going over each one, hopefully you'll find some insights into why you were fired...Be honest and thorough when you think about it and I'm sure you can gain some understanding....then work on those faults and prevent them from happening in your new career. Look into some of the successful living books (in self help section of book stores) and work some of the pointers into your own life. Good luck and congratulations on your graduation.

  7. well what was the reason why you got fired from all those past jobs?
