I have trouble waking up? If I drink wine earlier and then beer, it's just as bad, I cant' wake up. But wine alone, I'm OK early in the morning?

  1. My friend suffers from the same thing. He can take shots with no problem but when it comes to beer, he can't handle it. Your body probably can not quickly break down the ingredients in the beer, as opposed to wine.

    Oh, and NEVER mix drinks.

  2. if u mix wine with any other drink u get problems.

  3. Obviously everyone reacts differently but my gran used to say

Beer before Wine you'll be fine,

Wine before Beer, you'll be a bit q***r.

These were pre modern language useage so q***r simply meant a bit funny, i.e. hungover!

But then again she always said drink water before bed to limit the dehydration and therefore the hangover..clever old girl bless her :)

  4. It has allot to do with tannins that are in the beverages.  Im assuming she is drinking white wine,  as it would contain less tannins than many beers.

Tannins are actually a poisonous substance,  that gives a tart  flavor   to the beverage.

Tannins in the beverage along with dehydration are what cause a hangover.
