Why do I get a rash on my arms after playing volleyball?

Question

I've been playing volleyball outside, and when i am done i get this rash on my arm. It kinda burns and itches too. I've been playing for a while now so my arms are used to the passing in volleyball. Is it an allergic reaction? i dont know what my volleyball is made of though...I think it's composite leather. the first thing i thought of was a latex allergy because it's happenedmore than once. and it's really annoying me now.

when you use a hard ball it can hert and can make your arm red.and you might not be hitting the ball in the right place.maybe you are playing so much that it just happens...somtimes when i play with like a collage ball my arms get red and get little white bumps on my arm.......i really dont know know how to get ride of this execpt try to wash it really well and put lotion on it!!! hope it gets better!!!!!! : )

it sounds like an allergic reaction, but could also be caused by contact dermatitis-basically the ball is rubbing against your arm causing friction which causes the irritation.  

does this happen while playing indoors?  if not, then it way be a reaction to something that the ball is touching-grass, dirt,etc

you can try getting a neoprene <sp?> wrap for your arms or just wear a long sleeved shirt.  not so good for your tan though.

maybe because when you hit you might hit it with tour arm to hard or your allergic to the leather on the volley ball or maybe even the net

that happened to me!! it is because when you hit it the fore-arm way... It makes it red. When I played the next day my arms were sooooo itchy!!!

its because your not used to the ball or you have a bad reaction with the skin of the volleyball

I doubt it is a rash, I have the same thing happen when I play volleyball and it's just that your skin is irritated from hitting the ball so hard. It only goes away when you play volleyball a lot.

you get a rash because you must of fallen on the ground and the grass made you ich and that is how you got a rash from the grash

i think you may be having an allergic reaction to the sun. Maybe you are wearing a suncream that you dont react well with. Also, you may have and allergy to leather. Your best option is to go to the doctor and ask for his advice, and ask him to prescribe to with an oitment or a cream. Hope this helps. Good luck
