I've register my mobile device. Also program the number 92466 (Yahoo! Messenger) on mobile. Before when I send a text message to Y! Messenger, it works and allow me to be signed in. Now when I do this I get an error message saying it's an invalid number and to re-send using a valid 10-digit mobile number. Only time Y! Messenger appears to work is if I sign in to my mobile device when exit Messenger, then re-sign in to Messenger using my PC hours later. I perfer the option of signing into Y! Messenger when I need to and not when I exit Messenger from my PC.

  1. It took me awhile to find someone with the exact same problem. I called Cingular, to check on mMode (Yahoo Messenger on mobile web still works), and there reply to the texting service was, "You must have the wrong shortcode."

  2. I'm having the same problem. Except messenger wont work at all on my cell phone. It's really irritating me because that is how i talk to my boyfriend who is in Iraq while I'm at work.

  3. I also am getting this message -- starting only two days ago after several months of using YIM with no problem.   Also a Cingular customer.  Hoping Cingular or Yahoo will correct soon as this is very inconvenient.  Have never seen a 10-digit mobile number to use instead of 92466 -- all Yahoo messenger instructions say to to use that code.
