I don't know if just me, but it always happens. I brush my teeth and I have the urge to drink a gallon of water.

  1. Does your toothpaste contain baking soda? Whenever I use some it makes me thirsty..

Also it would do no harm to get your doctor to check your blood glucose level..

  2. Because you spit all the saliva out of your mouth when brushing your teeth which makes it feel dry.

  3. Because all the saliva is out of your mouth.

  4. It happens to me as well, but I do NOT have the urge to drink a gallon of water, a single small glass of ice cold water does nicely for me. I think it is because of the toothpaste. I think it has an astringent in it, which like lemon juice, causes the membranes and your whole mouth to pucker a bit. And then I think it also has something like menthol in the flavoring which makes it SEEM like water you drink after is much colder that it really IS. My very favorite drink is ice cold milk, so cold it almost is ice. However milk is not so good a thing to let sit on your teeth. All I know for sure is that I brush my teeth at least 5 times a day. Sometimes I brush my teeth mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon, "just because" I always feel better after I brush my teeth. It is probably a psychological thing, but it works for me...

  5. Ahhhhh, Ok, let's see if I have this right...you been out partying, had a huge amount of booze, came home, passed out, woke up, brushed your teeth and now your extremely thirsty....the booze dried you out Bunky. Your body is telling you to fill the radiator with clear water...your kidneys are about to shrivel up...and your bladder thinks you forgot it's there for a reason.....Other than that scenario, I haven't a clue as to why you correlate toothpaste with thirst...Tell you what...drink the water, it's good for you. Good luck and I wish you well.
