Your skin is probably sensitive to something, try switching to a pure and organic body wash, and use a heavy lotion, like Nivia or Eucerin, and instead of rubbing your skin dry try patting it.

Probably because your skin is dry and irritated. I think you should moisturise after you shower, this will help for sure. Get one for dry skin. Anything with cocoa butter is very good. Or try using baby oil all over your skin after you come out of the shower, while your skin is still damp. This locks in moisture (apparently up to 10 times more than a regular moisturiser).
