When I open Control Panel...Network Connections.. I get the following message:

"The Network Connections Folder was unable to retrieve the list of Network Adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the Network Connections service is enabled and running"

There used to be a connection in the Network Connections folder but now this connection's icon disappeared and I get the message I wrote before.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

Find the Network Connections Service and start it.

  2. At the command prompt type: Ping 127.0.0.1

You should get a reply, if not your network card is not working. It could be drivers or failure.

    Cheers
