Question:

Why do I get ulcers so often?

Hiya there, I'm not asking for "how to cure ulcers" 'cause I know salt and bonjela work fine, despite the stinging.

I'm also not asking for people to refer me to the dentist/doctor/GP - because I will make a professional appointment sometime soon.

However, I'm very prone to getting ulcers and I'd like some suggestions as to why I may be getting them.

I currently get around 3 at the same time, in different areas of my mouth, every week or so. As you can imagine, it gets difficult to eat - and I've slowly started losing weight because I just can't bear to eat the amount I should.

I'm a 17 year old female with no record of persistent ulcers in my family. I drink alot of orange juice - because I'm wary of my vitamin C, but I'm also aware of the acidity in oranges..

I am almost always stressed.. and I do sometimes miss out on sufficient sleep. I'm also currently taking Cilest - if that's any help aswell.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks =]

  1. the orange juice is a lead culprit. i used to drink it nonstop and i had the same problem. now, i just take vitamins to makeup for the loss. the stress and and sleep will give you them too. it sounds like you know all about them that you should. but, like you said, you need to see your dr to check for things like infections and deficiencies to make sure it's not the culprit. good luck. i also used peroxyl daily to prevent mine, if it helps.
