Question:

Why do I hate people to be in my room?

It's my biggest pet peeve! I can't stand for people to linger in my room and not do anything. It really pisses me off. I just can't stand it. Beforehand, I wasn't molested or groped or nothing of that nature, so it's not because I am subconsciously afraid of something sexual.

  1. well, u like ur privacy and think of ur room like a panther likes his cave or land, its ur taritory and u dont like it wen somone snopes or lingers

  3. There is nothing wrong with not wanting people to be present in your room. You have no reason to be alarmed, as it's completely normal.

Your room is your own personal space where you can get away from others and relax when needed.

It's a private space that you can call your own. It's not supposed to be a public high-traffic space such as a living or dining room.

EDIT: I accidently gave FR3SHMAN a 'thumbs down' rating. I actually have to agree with his comparison.

  4. I don't know, maybe you just like your privacy. There is nothing really wrong with that. You probably just consider your room to be yours and yours alone. Nothing is wrong with you at all: we all have some crazy pet peeve!

  5. i think it is because you are a selfish brick

    sorry but it the truth

  6. Maybe you have privacy issues

  7. idk me too i feel like i don't want them to find something i'm hiding even when i'm not hiding anything

  8. Me too I can't get anything done with people looking over my shoulder.

  9. I have the same thing going on but its with different friends

Have you ever thought its because your room is small or you don't trust thouse people around your things I don't like it when some of my friends are around my stuff

  10. I agree with everyone so far, anyways, I'm the same way actually almost. I don't like people to linger in my room and mess stuff up and do nothing. Honestly, I never do that to anyone else's house, why do they do it to me? Like, some of my friends, they won't let me look at anything. But, on the other-side I let everyone look at whatever. I'm starting to STOP letting people mess around. It's pretty tomato annoying!

  11. i think that you shoud just keep your room clean and always do somthing and keep privet stuff hidden

  12. There could be some underlying reasons, or it could be that you like being alone in your "den," as it were.

It could be that some other people could be in your room doing the same thing and it wouldn't bother you. You may be putting up a wall around yourself because you don't care to have a closer level of friendship with the person you feel bothered by.

You may have a fear of opening up to people and getting closer in interpersonal relationships. That would be something you could possibly confront with a therapist.

There could be something you want to keep hidden about yourself.

You may have actually had something happen in early childhood that you have repressed and just don't remember it.

You may just have an overly developed "Type A" personality and the amount of control you exert on your belongings or even just on your space and how things are kept in their order is very important to you, and if anyone were to disrupt that order you have, it would feel like a violation. This too would be something you could discuss with a therapist if you so desire to overcome this feeling.
