After eating (especially it seems anything with sugar) I tend to have trouble breathing. It feels kind of like an anxiety attack. I can't seem to catch my breath. After maybe 1/2 an hour or an hour it fades away.

I can be sitting still and my heart rate goes up. I don't smoke or drink, I don't even consume beverages with caffeine. What could this be?

  1. you might be eating to fast and you can try eating slower (its just a suggestion)

  2. i am asthmatic also ...  I also have food allergies ...  I notice increased mucus production with dairy and sugar and shortness of breath with many of the foods I am allergic to ...  try to cut out dairy and sugar and keep a food diary ...  take a calcium supplement if you are worried about it without dairy, and get instructions from your allergist (that's who monitors my asthma) on how to start and keep a food diary ...  you start with very few foods in your diet and add 1 each week and document when you have shortness of breath or any other symptoms ...

    good luck  :)
