Question:

Why do I have Yahoo Mail Advisor in Add/Remove programs?

I just discovered something called Yahoo Mail Advisor in my Add/Remove Programs...with the last used date being "tomorrow's date" at that. I've never heard of this program and I've been having trouble with my Yahoo Messenger lately. When chatting, the other person doesn't receive my instant messages all of a sudden. What in the world is going on? I was planning to uninstall messenger then reinstall it is why I went to add/remove programs. It also shows my Yahoo Toolbar with the last used date as tomorrow's date (7/28/08). Any help and brainstorming on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Uninstall ANYTHING Yahoo based (does not include AT&T Yahoo Internet if you are AT&T customer) and reinstall the stuff you want. Like Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Toolbar. Slowly go through the installation; they might want to install other programs and you dont notice it.

  2. update your anti-virus and run a full system scan

also, you can remove the yahoo toolbar

When installing yhaoo messenger, click custom installation and select what you want

    or

    else

    try

    www.meebo.com/

meebo, the web messenger that lets you access IM from absolutely anywhere. meebo supports msn, yahoo, aol/aim, google talk (gtalk), jabber and icq.
