Question:

Why do I have a big oil spot on my recently paved driveway?

I had my driveway paved with blacktop. A few weeks later a big circle of oil is in the center. I never park my car in the driveway for any length of time. This oil seems to be seeping up every day it is warm. I cannot get ahold of the contractor.

Anyone know why this would happen?

  1. Don't know, but clay based kitty litter will help absorb it.

  2. probably a poor mix

  3. Verdugo: It belongs to the car the other man is driving when you are not home my brother. Install some cameras and you'll find out who it belongs to. Just don't tell your spouse.

  4. Do you heat with oil?

Do you have a buried fuel oil Tank.

    Did they hit a line?

Can't think of any other reason unless they drained a Diesel powered tractor or something there.

  5. Could one of your visitors (or your vehicle) have had an oil drip/leak? Try putting some cat litter material on it to dry it up.
