Why do I have a lack of energy?

I am a very healthy active person. I literally eat clean protein, complex carbs, plenty of water, no juices, or unhealthy food. I work out regularly (have been for over 10 yrs) and train in a martial art.

I go to bed at regular hours and get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep (for the most part). I drink very little (weekends only) and do not do drugs or use supplements.

So why am I tired all day long???

Please do not answer with the same old stuff.

  1. You might be low on iron.  Try food supplements or Vitamin's

  2. Because you need to get addicted to coffee or caffeine pills.  If you end up taking methamphetamines be very very careful, it ruins your health in the long term if you do it a lot, and it's incredible addictive, which can get expensive.

  3. I believe u have hypothyroidism. It is an under active thyroid gland that is fairly common in adults. It can make u tired all day long. I have it so I should know. Read up on it and see a doctor, good luck!

  4. Life is having and following a purpose.  Purpose is the fuel that drives you forward.  When you have a strong purpose to do something, you have energy to burn.

But if your goal seems really far away or if you don't even know what you are doing with your life, you won't have much energy.

As others have said, there can always be nutritional/medical/chemical/sleep issues.  But if these are all in order, you need to look at what you are doing with your life.

As you seem to be looking after yourself pretty well, I can suggest areas to look.  First one is relationships.  Do you have someone?  Want someone? Have someone but don't want them? What's going on there with your relationships?

Next one is work.  What are you trying to achieve there and how is it going?

A terrible thing about purposes is that if you have one and you aren't doing something about it, then you won't feel good.  If you want to be the number one tennis player in the world, then you had better get yourself out on the court practising and training or you will be sitting on the couch watching tv feeling TIRED.

I mention this because people often see things wrong around them (drugs, crime, family problems, war, whatever) and would like to do something about them .... but don't.  When people say profound things like "you have to be true to yourself", they mean that you should follow your purposes.  If you have a purpose to do something, then you have to get off your butt and do something about it.  Don't wait for the mid-life crisis.  Do it now.
