Why so many headaches???

I have always had a problem with headaches, even as a child. However, in the past four years or so they are very frequent. The strange thing is, is that I will have headaches probably on average about 5 days out of 7, then after awhile, I won't get them as often.

Lately though, I would say maybe the past year or so I will get headaches almost every day for a month or so, then the frequency of them will drop to maybe 1 a week, then back to almost every day.

Any idea as to what the problem is? They usually aren't like migraines, but still bad none the less. I find I am constantly eating Excedrin because for the most part it seems to be the ONLY pain reliever that helps. I have tried other things like Tylenol, Aleve, Ibuprofen etc. but they usually do not work.

  1. 1. Drink more water. You may be dehydrated.

    2. You need glasses. Get an eye exam.

    3. You've had a minor tumor in your head and you are going to drop dead any minute :)

  2. There are a lot of causes of headaches, so I recommend that you research the topic thoroughly, keep a headache journal, and see your doctor. However, one thing that really jumps out at me is that you say you take a lot of Excedrin; you might be experiencing "rebound headaches". These occur BECAUSE of the pain reliever you are taking.  If you take them too often, they actually cause headaches, and the only solution to the problem is to stop taking anything for awhile.  I do sympathize, having suffered severe migraines for years myself.  That's why I urge you to see your doctor.

  3. sounds like cluster headaches. make an appointment with a

neurologist. they will prescribe meds for that. i see a neurologist for

my migraines and he put me on relpax, it works awesome for me.

  4. Many years ago I bought a book on how to stop getting migrains.  It explained that tension causes us to restrict our blood vessels and therefore blood collects up in areas, causing pain.  The book taught us how to recognize tension early and relax our muscles.   It really worked for me.

Also, headaches can be caused by having no fresh air in the house, having the heater on too high, by not eating regular meals, and by under or over-sleeping.

Try learning to relax more and get a book on migrains, eat first thing in the morning and lunch and dinner, get 7-9 hours of sleep per night.  But most important, open your windows, your patio doors and get lots of fresh air.  Take walks outside or just sit outside as often as possible.  And of course, go to the doctor!

  5. could be stress. you should try and relieve your stress, naturally. you should go to a natural, healthfood store and tell them what you are experiencing. the herbalist will know what is causing your headache and give you some natural suppliment. it could be a matter of some deficiency in the body,.
