Question:

Why do I have to connect a nunchuck to the Wii remote to operate the Wii menu?

When I start up my Wii, I often have to connect the Nunchuck for the pointer to show up, then I can go about choosing the channels that I want. Now, I don't know if this is supposed to happen, but when I disconnect the Nunchuck, the pointer disappears and I can't go about playing whatever I want. Can anyway tell me if the Wiimote is supposed to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Sherman.

  1. Used wiis = bad wiis.

No, it is not supposed to do that.

Try it with different remotes and if worse comes to worse, get a new wii. You can probably return it for a new one with a discount of some kind.

  2. I know, i bought a used Wii, and the same thing happened to me. Then, i exchanged my wii for a new one, and that fixed it. Exchange your wii for a new one, or send it to nintendo, (nunchuck and all) and they'll probably fix it, or at least tell u what you can do.

  3. It's not suppose to do that, you should return the wiimote and numb chuck and exchange them for new ones. If it's still doing this then your wii is glitched, exchange it.

  4. send to nintendo or trade in for new one
