  1. Are you talking about every time you log into yahoo?  Yahoo is a marginally free service open to everybody.  Which means that I can go to any computer anywhere, no matter who owns the thing and log into my yahoo account.

Which means, that if I know your profile name or your user name, I can try to log in as you. IF I know your password too.

Your password is supposed to be unique only to you and there fore unless I were an accomplished hacker, very difficult for me to figure out, and therefore be 'you' on-line.  You're asked to confirm your password to keep your information safe.

Sometimes it's annoying to say the least...but it sure beats identity theft.

As for taking forever?  Sometimes Yahoo experiences major consumer bog-dom.  So many users on-line at the same time that it takes forever for anything to load etc.  Peak times...when the majority of users are on-line are the worst for this problem.  And it can be even slower depending upon whether you have dial up or broadband service.  Dial up lengthens any Internet process.

Also, if your computer is reacting un-gawd-ly slow...delete your 'cookie's', user history, and/or temp files to allow your computer to react quicker rather than it's memory fumbling through unnecessary files, pics etc.
