Question:

Why do I have wax all over my wetsuit and boardshorts? How to remove?

I feel like I'm the only one in the line up that has wax rub off on my wetsuit backside and the front and back of my board shorts. So it looks all white. Am I applying it wrong? I'm using the right temperature wax, I know that. Is there anyway to get it off my boardshorts?

  1. Dude where's my car?

  2. try using a harderwax. If your in cold water...cold water wax. warm water...warm water wax.

  3. I agree with both of them, it will kinda wear off slowly, and you should use a harder wax.

Also, sometimes I like to completely strip my boards of old wax and start from scratch.  Use a wax comb and completely scrape it clean.  Apply a good heavy basecoat.  It takes a long time, but it's worth it.  Then use the right temp wax, and go at it.  :)

You can also try switching the brand of wax you use.

Also, if you're not diggin' the wax scene, you can get big grip decks and traction pads to put on your board.  They come in all shapes and sizes (and colors) and you can put them all over your board, or where you need them most, not only on the tail.  They come in sections, so you can use what you need where you need it.

  4. Trust me you're not the only one with wax on the butt of their wet suit.  If you really want to get it out you can use something like wax stripper or Goo-B-Gone to remove it.  It may discolor your wet suit though.  If you wash your board shorts in hot water it will come out.

  5. no, it wont come off, it will wear off. Fresh wax will rub off onto your shorts and suit. Deal with it. Are you a poser?
