Hey,

I am a healthy teen. Eat healthy, healthy lifestyle, exercise a lot. However, it seems like at least 3 days a week i experience bad digestion. Sometimes its constipation and other times its diarrhea. Sometimes its alternating between the two on a day to day basis. The symptoms are not very extreme, but they are uncomfortable. What should i do?

  1. Great answer from 1st poster.  In addition if you are on or have had recently in past coupel of years antibiotics you might want to take some acedophilius (spelling) or activa yogurt daily for a while...

Agree with seeing dr.  also you could consider talking to your school nurse about  nutrition..sometimes we think we are eating healthy but someone else will see something else.

  2. Hello dear,

I'd go see your doctor to see if these are symptoms of IBS, or if your body is not absorbing enough fiber.

Since you already eat healthy and such there isn't much you can change. I always like to advise against gambling with medication to see if it will help.

How about trying a high fiber diet for a week and seeing if that makes things run smoothly again? Weetabix or just lots of fruit and veg may do the trick.

If that doesn't work, speak to your doctor. Good luck :)
